Ohio State will have 24 representatives at the 2024 Paris Olympics. These athletes include current, former, and incoming Buckeyes from 10 countries and nine sports. The games will take place from July 26 to August 11 in Paris.
Seven athletes from Ohio State will compete for the United States, while eight Buckeyes will represent Canada. Other Buckeyes will compete for France, Germany, Ireland, Lithuania, Nigeria, Puerto Rico, Spain, and Trinidad & Tobago.
Among the Olympians are six swimmers, three synchronized swimmers, three track and field athletes, three pistol shooters, three fencers, two divers, two rowers, a soccer player, and a wrestler.
For the United States, pistol shooter Katelyn Abeln, the most decorated in Ohio State history, will compete in the 10-meter air pistol and the 25-meter pistol events. Swimmer Hunter Armstrong, a gold medalist from the Tokyo Olympics, will compete in the 100-meter backstroke and the 4×100-meter freestyle relay. Artistic swimmer Keana Hunter will participate in the team routines. Ada Korkhin, another pistol shooter, will compete in the 25-meter women’s sport pistol. Henry Leverett, also a pistol shooter, will participate in the men’s 25-meter rapid-fire pistol. Artistic swimmer Ruby Remati will join Hunter on the U.S. team. Wrestler Kyle Snyder, an Olympic gold medalist, will compete in the 97-kilogram freestyle.
For Canada, Fares Arfa will compete in fencing, Duan Asemota in track and field, Alex Axon in swimming, Emma Finlin in swimming, Scarlett Finn in artistic swimming, Eleanor Harvey in fencing, Tristan Jankovics in swimming, and Nichelle Prince in soccer.
France will be represented by Maximilien Chastanet in fencing and Elodie Ravera-Scarramozzino in rowing. Germany’s Lena Hentschel will compete in diving. Ireland’s Ciara McGing will also compete in diving. Lithuania’s Tomas Navikonis will join the swimming team. Sade Olatoye will compete in track and field for Nigeria. Kristen Romano will swim for Puerto Rico. Spain’s Aina Cid will participate in rowing, and Leah Bertrand from Trinidad & Tobago will compete in track and field.
