Today at Ohio Stadium, Ohio State is hosting a pivotal recruiting event as the Buckeyes take on Iowa, with numerous highly-ranked prospects in attendance. The recruiting weekend is shaping up to be the biggest of the year so far, and Ohio State’s staff will be looking to impress some of the nation’s top recruits across multiple classes.
In Ohio State’s current 2025 recruiting class, 14 of the 26 commits are expected to be on campus, including five-star standouts Tavien St. Clair, Devin Sanchez, and Riley Pettijohn. Among those, linebacker Tarvos Alford’s visit could be especially significant, as he’s been heavily pursued by Miami and Florida State. His time spent with linebackers coach James Laurinaitis will be important in solidifying his commitment to Ohio State.
From the 2026 class, four-star cornerback Dorian Barney, currently committed to Alabama, will make his first visit to another school since his commitment in May. Ohio State will look to leverage Barney’s strong relationship with secondary coach Tim Walton to make a push in his recruitment. Several key in-state offensive linemen will also be on campus, including four-star prospects Maxwell Riley and Will Conroy, who both hold OSU offers, and Adam Guthrie, a top-215 player who could receive an offer soon.
Rodney Dunham, a four-star defensive end in the 2026 cycle, is also expected in attendance. Recently offered by the Buckeyes, Dunham is ranked No. 56 overall and No. 6 at edge rusher, and he brings a unique connection to OSU through his high school teammate, wide receiver target Brody Keefe. Tight end Evan Jacobson, a 2026 prospect from Iowa, will also be at the game to watch his hometown Hawkeyes while continuing to explore Ohio State as an option.
The 2027 class brings even more star power, headlined by five-star quarterback Brady Edmunds, who is making his second trip to Ohio State. Edmunds has Ohio State in his top four along with Penn State, Michigan, and Texas. After today’s visit, he’s set to visit Texas, but a commitment decision could come soon after. Ohio State’s coaches will be keen to make a lasting impression on Edmunds. Another five-star visitor from the 2027 class, wide receiver Jamier Brown, will also be on campus. Brown, one of the fastest players in Ohio, is ranked No. 6 overall in his class and has been a major target for OSU’s Brian Hartline.
