In a thrilling culmination to the 2024 ITA Division I Men’s National Team Indoor Championships from the Philip & Cheryl Milstein Family Tennis Center in Manhattan, New York, the Ohio State Buckeyes emerged victorious on Monday etching their name in the annals of college tennis history. The Buckeyes clinched their third ITA Indoor Championship in program history by defeating TCU in a hard-fought championship match that showcased the team’s skill, resilience, and determination.
The championship match proved to be a battle of tennis titans as #1 ranked Ohio State had to defeat #2 TCU in come from behind fashion in order to claim the National Title. Both teams demonstrated exceptional prowess, but it was the Buckeyes who ultimately prevailed, securing a memorable victory and adding another prestigious title to their collection.
After being down 2-3, Alexander Bernard won his match in three sets over Thomas Jirousek from TCU. Minutes later, the Buckeyes claimed the title when Robert Cash defeated Lui Maxted in three sets 6-7, 6-4, and 6-3.
