Ohio State fans received disturbing news as former Buckeye and current Cleveland Browns defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr. was arrested following a domestic dispute on Monday night. According to reports from the Avon Police Department, Hall, a 2024 second-round NFL Draft pick, was involved in an alleged incident of domestic violence around 10 p.m. at his home in Avon, Ohio.
The police report, obtained by The Chronicle-Telegram, details a troubling series of events. The mother of Hall’s fiancée called the police, claiming Hall had pushed her daughter, struck her with a baby bottle, and dragged her down the porch and driveway. The most alarming allegation involves Hall reportedly putting a gun to his fiancée’s temple, threatening, “I will f— end it all.” When police arrived, they found damage in the home consistent with a fight and discovered two handguns, a .40-caliber Glock and a 9mm Smith & Wesson.
Hall, who played three seasons at Ohio State, has been charged with domestic violence and pleaded not guilty. He was released on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on September 10. The Cleveland Browns acknowledged the situation, stating they are in the process of gathering more information and will not comment further at this time.
Hall’s time at Ohio State was marked by impressive performances on the field. Over 28 games, he recorded 45 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, and six sacks, earning third-team All-Big Ten honors in both 2022 and 2023. However, this recent incident casts a shadow over his transition to the NFL, just days after his professional debut in a preseason game against the Packers.
