Ohio State running back Quinshon Judkins put on an impressive display yesterday, leading the Buckeyes to a dominant victory over Marshall. Judkins rushed for 173 yards and two touchdowns on just 14 carries, a performance that left Ohio State fans buzzing.
In his postgame press conference, Judkins shared his excitement about being a key part of the offense. “I was super excited to see how Travion [Henderson] ran in the first quarter,” Judkins said. “Just supporting him from afar and watching the offense flow—it was successful, and I enjoyed it.”
Although Judkins didn’t get a touch early on, once he got into the rhythm of the game, he made an immediate impact. His longest run of the day—a career-high 86-yard burst—put the Buckeyes in control. “I turned around a little bit to see if I had a flag on the play,” Judkins joked after the game. “But I was definitely super excited to break that run.”
The game, played in 95-degree heat, didn’t phase the former SEC star, who remarked that the Ohio humidity was nothing compared to what he experienced back in Mississippi. “Some of my teammates were breathing hard, but I was like, it’s not even hot!” Judkins laughed, showing how well-adjusted he is to high-pressure environments.
Ohio State head coach Ryan Day praised Judkins’ approach to the game, emphasizing his coachability. Judkins takes pride in that mindset. “I approach the game in a way that I want to get better every day. If my coaches are there to help me improve, I listen, and I work hard to make my game better.”
Perhaps one of the most exciting moments came when Judkins scored a touchdown on a power run, stiff-arming a Marshall defender on his way to the end zone. When asked about his running style, Judkins explained, “The mindset for me and my teammates is to play with bad intentions. When I get the ball, I’m going to try to score, make the most of every touch.”
Judkins also reflected on what it means to play for Ohio State and the “brotherhood” within the team. “Everybody here is doing it for the person beside them, not for themselves. It’s about trusting your teammate, and knowing he’s going to make a play when you need him to.”
As the Buckeyes continue their impressive season, Judkins’ performance is sure to play a crucial role in their success. Fans have plenty to be excited about, especially with Judkins running with “bad intentions” every time he touches the ball.
