Ohio State is set for another Big Ten showdown today in Columbus, taking on the Iowa Hawkeyes at the Horseshoe. The Buckeyes’ latest game trailer, narrated by three-time All-American and national champion Mike Doss, has fans fired up. Doss, known for his passion and leadership during his time at Ohio State, captured the spirit of Buckeye football in his voiceover.
“In the heart of Ohio, there’s a place like no other,” Doss said. “On Saturdays, the world stands still. On the banks of the Olentangy, where tradition bleeds scarlet and gray, the world’s eyes are locked on us. The sights, the sounds of scarlet and gray echoing far and wide. Where tradition runs deep, and the fight never stops. And this tradition? Well, it’s unlike anything you’ve seen before.”
Donovan Jackson, Jim Knowles, and Ryan Day also contributed their voices to the trailer, creating a perfect prelude to today’s matchup.
But that’s not all the excitement at the Shoe. During the game, Ohio State will honor several Buckeye sports legends as part of the OSU Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2024. Notable inductees include football stars Braxton Miller, Jeff Logan, and Matt Wilhelm, basketball star Greg Oden, athletic director Gene Smith, and Olympic gold medalist wrestler Kyle Snyder. These Buckeye icons were enshrined yesterday at the Covelli Center and will be celebrated once again in front of the home crowd.
On the field, the Buckeyes will be wearing their alternate all-gray uniforms for this contest against Iowa, adding a fresh look to the tradition-rich rivalry. As for the weather, fans in Central Ohio can expect a picture-perfect fall day with sunny skies and temperatures rising into the upper 70s.
