Ohio State fans have plenty to celebrate as Jake Diebler’s first recruiting class has officially come together! Four-star recruits Dorian Jones and A’mare Bynum made their commitment to the Buckeyes official on Wednesday, signing their financial aid agreements as the early signing period for basketball kicked off. Together, they give Ohio State a solid foundation in the 2025 recruiting class, currently ranked No. 37 in the nation according to the 247Sports composite.

Dorian Jones, the 6-foot-4 shooting guard out of Richmond Heights High School in Cleveland, is one of Ohio’s brightest prospects, ranked as the No. 18 shooting guard and No. 108 overall player. He shined in his junior year, earning first-team All-Ohio honors in Division IV and helping lead his team to a state championship with an average of 14.1 points per game. Jones committed to Ohio State on July 1, choosing the Buckeyes over top programs like Michigan, Rutgers, and Missouri, as well as additional offers from schools such as Georgia Tech, Miami, and Michigan State. A native Buckeye, he’s excited to bring his talents to Columbus and represent his home state.

Joining Jones is A’mare Bynum, a versatile 6-foot-8 power forward from Omaha, Nebraska. Bynum’s talent is undeniable—ranked as the No. 104 overall prospect and No. 18 center in the composite rankings, he has the skill and size to make a real impact. Ohio State plans to use him at power forward, a role that will capitalize on his athleticism and scoring ability. During his junior season at Bryan High School, Bynum averaged 21.1 points, nine rebounds, two assists, and 2.3 blocks per game. Now playing his senior season at powerhouse Link Academy in Missouri, Bynum chose Ohio State over other major programs, including Iowa, Colorado, and LSU, with a decision that he says was heavily influenced by his strong connection with Coach Diebler and assistant coach Jamall Walker.

Diebler and his staff may not be finished with the 2025 class just yet. Four-star guard Jerry Easter, another Ohio native and now Bynum’s teammate at Link Academy, remains a top target. If Easter joins, this class could be one of the most exciting in recent Buckeye memory.

With Jones and Bynum signed, the Buckeyes are building a future that’s looking bright in Columbus.
