Thanksgiving brought an extra reason for Buckeye fans to celebrate as four-star tight end Corbyn Fordham announced his commitment to Ohio State. Fordham, a 6-foot-4, 215-pound standout from Jacksonville’s Bolles School, becomes the third member of the Buckeyes’ 2026 recruiting class, joining five-star wide receiver Chris Henry Jr. and three-star wide receiver Jaeden Ricketts.
Fordham’s journey with Ohio State began when he received his offer in January. Intrigued by the program’s prestige and culture, he built a strong connection with tight ends coach Keenan Bailey, whose influence played a significant role in Fordham’s decision. His visits to Columbus this year—attending a spring practice, participating in a one-day camp, and later visiting with his family for the Purdue game—further solidified his bond with the Buckeyes.
“I just thought Ohio State was the best fit for me,” Fordham said. “I love Coach Kee(nan Bailey) and Coach (Ryan) Day. They’ll put me in the best position to succeed.”
With Fordham’s commitment, Ohio State bolsters an already promising 2026 recruiting class. Ranked No. 323 nationally, No. 15 among tight ends, and No. 51 in Florida per 247Sports Composite rankings, Fordham brings both versatility and athleticism to the table. His junior season saw him record 22 receptions for 226 yards and four touchdowns, showcasing his ability to be a reliable target.
The Buckeyes envision Fordham as a hybrid tight end, capable of being split out wide while also contributing as an in-line player, drawing comparisons to Gee Scott Jr. Bailey’s ability to recruit elite talent at the position continues to shine, following the additions of Max LeBlanc and Damarion Witten in the 2024 class.
Fordham isn’t just stopping at his own commitment—he’s working to bring his high school teammates, four-star wide receiver Naeem Burroughs and four-star safety/linebacker Simeon Caldwell, into the fold. Caldwell is scheduled to visit Ohio State for the Buckeyes’ showdown against Michigan, and Fordham remains optimistic about the trio’s potential to play together at the next level.
“We always talk about playing together,” Fordham shared. “But it’ll all come down to where we each feel is home.”
Ohio State beat out a host of top programs for Fordham’s commitment, including Georgia, Clemson, Auburn, and Florida State. With over 36 offers on the table, his choice underscores the draw of Ohio State’s coaching staff, development program, and championship aspirations.
Fordham’s pledge highlights Ohio State’s ability to recruit elite talent on a national scale. His parents, fully supportive of his decision, believe the Buckeyes are the perfect fit for their son. Fordham plans to enroll early in January 2026, giving him an opportunity to adapt to the college game and contribute early in his career.
For the Buckeyes, Fordham represents not just a talented addition but a potential impact player who could earn meaningful reps by his second season and evolve into a future NFL draft prospect. As Ohio State continues to compete for championships, commitments like Fordham’s ensure the program’s trajectory remains firmly upward.
With Fordham on board, the Buckeyes’ 2026 class is shaping up to be another one for the record books. Fans can rest assured: the future is bright in Columbus.
