Following a tough road loss at Indiana, Ohio State returned to its home court in resounding fashion, delivering a commanding 98-46 victory over Purdue. With this triumph, the Buckeyes maintained their perfect home record and reaffirmed their dominance in Big Ten play.
Ohio State showcased its offensive firepower, draining a season-high 14 three-pointers while outscoring Purdue by double digits in every quarter. Chance Gray led the charge with 21 points, followed closely by Jaloni Cambridge with 20. Cotie McMahon contributed 16 points, while Ajae Petty and Kennedy Cambridge added 12 and 10, respectively, demonstrating the team’s balanced scoring attack.
The Buckeyes’ 52-point margin of victory marked the largest win by any Big Ten team in conference play this season, the biggest home conference victory in Ohio State history, and the worst defeat in Purdue’s program history. The win lifted Ohio State to 14-0 at home, 23-4 overall, and 12-4 in the Big Ten, while Purdue fell to 9-18 overall and 2-14 in conference play.
From the opening tip, Ohio State set the tone with a dominant start, racing to a 13-0 lead before Purdue could even get on the scoreboard. The Buckeyes closed the first quarter with a commanding 24-8 advantage, fueled by McMahon’s 10-point outburst in the first 10 minutes.
Ohio State’s depth played a crucial role as well, with Madison Greene, Kennedy Cambridge, and Eboni Walker combining for eight consecutive bench points early in the second quarter. Jaloni Cambridge then took over, scoring 12 straight Ohio State points in a dynamic sequence that included a three-pointer, a layup, and seven consecutive free throws. By halftime, the Buckeyes had amassed 55 points—the most they have scored in a half against a Big Ten opponent this season—while holding a 29-point lead.

The second half saw no letup from the Buckeyes, who opened the third quarter with a 13-3 run. Gray fueled this surge, scoring eight points in just 38 seconds on a layup and back-to-back three-pointers. Ohio State extended its lead to 42 points by the end of the third quarter and quickly pushed it to 52 in the fourth, outscoring Purdue 21-11 in the final period to complete a wire-to-wire blowout.
Prior to the game, Ohio State honored seniors Madison Greene and Taylor Thierry in a special Senior Day ceremony, making the victory even more meaningful. The Buckeyes will close out their home schedule on Wednesday at 7 p.m. against Michigan State, with the game set to stream on B1G+. With an unblemished home record on the line, Ohio State looks to continue its dominance and build momentum heading into the postseason.
