Ohio State basketball has secured a commitment from Myles Herro, younger brother of NBA standout Tyler Herro, as part of its 2025 recruiting class. A 6-foot-3 guard from Whitnall High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Herro brings a strong pedigree, high-level basketball exposure, and a promising skill set to the Buckeyes’ backcourt rotation for the 2025–26 season.

Though unranked by the 247Sports composite, Herro is recognized by 247Sports as a three-star prospect and the No. 40 point guard nationally in his class. He made his impact felt on the AAU circuit with Team Herro—coached by his father—competing in Nike’s Elite Youth Basketball League. His senior year stats at Whitnall further demonstrate his all-around contributions: 21.5 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game.

Importantly, Herro will be on scholarship when he joins Ohio State. While he may be considered a developmental piece, his natural scoring instincts, basketball IQ, and competitive background suggest he could carve out a meaningful role in Columbus.

Herro becomes the second member of the 2025 freshman class, joining four-star forward A’mare Bynum. Four-star guard Dorian Jones had also committed to the Buckeyes but has delayed his enrollment due to reported academic eligibility challenges.

With Myles Herro now in the fold, the Buckeyes continue to build depth and potential in their future roster, blending top-tier recruits with high-upside players eager to prove themselves at the next level.
