Ohio State fans will have a lot to celebrate this fall as ten former Buckeye athletes, representing a wide range of sports, will be inducted into the Ohio State Athletics Hall of Fame. Headlining the 2025 class is none other than football standout Billy Price, the lone gridiron representative in this year’s group. Price’s storied career in scarlet and gray began in 2014 when he helped Ohio State claim a national championship as a redshirt freshman starting at left guard.
Over the next three seasons, he shifted from left guard to right guard and ultimately to center, earning All-American honors at each stop. His dominance culminated in 2017 when he won the Rimington Trophy as the nation’s best center, becoming a unanimous All-American in the process. His remarkable durability and consistency were on full display as he started 55 consecutive games—still a school record.

Price was selected 21st overall in the 2018 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals, and while his professional career included stints with multiple teams, it came to a premature end in 2024 after he suffered a pulmonary embolism. Despite the early retirement, Price’s impact on Ohio State football remains unmatched—both as a key figure in the 2014 title run and as a pillar of the Buckeyes’ offensive line excellence. His induction is a fitting tribute to one of the most respected leaders of the Urban Meyer era.
Joining Price in this year’s Hall of Fame class are nine other Buckeyes who left a lasting legacy in their respective sports. Each has worn the block O with pride and distinction, from Bianca Alvarez’s dominance on the diving platform to Blaz Rola’s NCAA titles on the tennis court. Their accomplishments span Big Ten titles, national championships, and All-American accolades, showcasing the depth and breadth of Ohio State’s athletic tradition. From track and field star Veronica Jatsek to wrestling champion Myles Martin, this class reflects the excellence that Buckeye Nation has come to expect.

The official induction ceremony will take place at the Covelli Center on October 3, followed by recognition during the football team’s home game against Minnesota on October 4. For Buckeye fans, it’s not just a chance to honor individual greatness—it’s another reminder that being part of The Ohio State University means standing among legends.
