Ohio State football continues to strengthen its offensive line depth, as former West Virginia lineman Justin Terry officially committed to the Buckeyes on Saturday. Terry, a Pickerington, Ohio native, adds valuable size and potential to the roster under the guidance of new offensive line coach Tyler Bowen. After one season with the Mountaineers, Terry brings four full years of eligibility to Columbus, offering the Buckeyes a long-term development project with significant upside.

Terry, a three-star prospect in the 2024 recruiting class, made it clear that once he entered the transfer portal, there was no other program he wanted to join. His heart was set on returning home and donning the Scarlet and Gray, where he will now have the opportunity to grow under Bowen’s leadership. Standing 6-foot-5 and weighing 338 pounds, Terry projects primarily as an offensive tackle, though his size and versatility could allow him to slide inside to guard if needed. Having redshirted during his freshman season at West Virginia, Terry will likely need time to adjust before becoming a major contributor on the field.

Ohio State has been actively seeking to add offensive line depth since the spring transfer portal window opened, recognizing the need to bolster a unit that currently carries just 14 scholarship linemen. The Buckeyes also hosted transfer offensive tackles Jaden Ball and Orion Irving for visits on Friday, signaling their intent to continue strengthening the trenches. While Ball was initially a potential target, he has since signed with Minnesota, narrowing Ohio State’s options for further additions.

Head coach Ryan Day mentioned following spring practice that the Buckeyes were about two linemen short of their desired numbers. Terry’s commitment is a step in the right direction, and it remains likely that Ohio State will pursue one more addition to solidify the offensive line group ahead of the upcoming season.
