A handful of top prospects made their way to Columbus last weekend to watch Ohio State’s season-opening victory against Akron, and even though there won’t be as many visitors for the Western Michigan game, Buckeye Nation can still expect some elite talent in the stands this Saturday.

One name to watch is four-star wide receiver Quincy Porter, a key piece of our 2025 class. The 6-foot-3 Bergen Catholic standout will be making a return trip to campus. His team plays Friday night in Massillon, so he’ll already be in Ohio before heading to the ‘Shoe on Saturday. Porter’s commitment is big for the Buckeyes, and this weekend should help further strengthen that bond.

Looking ahead to the 2026 class, a couple of key prospects are scheduled to be in attendance. In-state offensive tackle Sam Greer, an Archbishop Hoban product, will make his first gameday visit of the fall. This won’t be his first time in Columbus, and it won’t be his last. Greer has been a familiar face at Ohio State, and his presence this weekend could be crucial as OSU looks to lock in top talent from within state lines.

Another priority target for the Buckeyes in 2026 is four-star tight end Mack Sutter. This Illinois standout is a top-110 prospect and someone tight ends coach Keenan Bailey will be keeping a close eye on. Sutter picked up his OSU offer in April and visited for a camp in June. Saturday’s visit will help reinforce the relationship between Sutter and the Buckeyes.

Four-star cornerback Jordan Thomas, who’s ranked in the top 300 for the 2026 class, is also returning for a gameday visit. He was at OSU over the summer, so he’s already familiar with what Ohio State has to offer. Getting him back on campus is another chance for the Buckeyes to show why Columbus is the right place for him.

Looking even further ahead, we’ve got some younger talent on the radar. Two Ohio offensive linemen from the 2027 class—Reed Gerken and Mason Wilt—are expected to be in attendance. Neither player has an OSU offer yet, but both are worth keeping an eye on. They’ll be in Ohio Stadium, soaking in the atmosphere and getting a taste of what it means to be a Buckeye.

And let’s not forget about 2028 quarterback Neimann Lawrence. It’s crazy to think he hasn’t even played a down of high school football yet, but he’s already earned an OSU offer. Lawrence showcased his skills at a camp this summer, impressing both Chip Kelly and Ryan Day. He’s got a cannon for an arm and instincts beyond his years. Even though his recruitment is just beginning, Lawrence has high praise for Ohio State, saying he likes the quarterbacks we’ve developed and sees big things happening here. That’s exactly the kind of confidence we want to hear from a young QB with Buckeye potential.
