Former Ohio State offensive line coach Greg Studrawa is returning to the American football scene in a major way, taking over as head coach of IMG Academy’s prestigious National Football Team. This marks his first coaching job in the U.S. since departing from Ohio State following the 2021 season. Since then, Studrawa had been serving as offensive coordinator for the Cologne Centurions in the European League of Football.
From a Buckeye fan’s perspective, it’s encouraging to see a coach with deep Ohio State roots stepping into such a prominent role at one of the nation’s most elite high school football programs. Studrawa’s six-year run in Columbus, where he helped shape some of the Big Ten’s most dominant offensive lines, earned him respect at both the collegiate and professional levels. His tenure at Ohio State included key contributions to championship-caliber teams and the development of future NFL talent, making this next chapter at IMG a natural progression for a coach with his pedigree.

IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, is widely regarded as a powerhouse in high school football and has consistently produced top-tier talent. Ohio State has a strong history of recruiting from IMG, with wide receiver Carnell Tate being one of the program’s most notable recent additions. Having Studrawa at the helm further strengthens that connection, potentially giving the Buckeyes an even more strategic pipeline to elite prospects.
Kyle Brey, IMG’s Director of Football, praised the hire, citing Studrawa’s championship mindset, deep recruiting ties, and leadership as key attributes. Brey emphasized that Studrawa’s experience at the highest levels of the college game makes him an ideal figure to guide student-athletes preparing for the next stage in their football careers. Studrawa replaces former head coach Billy Miller, who recently accepted a position on Bill Belichick’s staff at North Carolina.

In addition to his time at Ohio State, Studrawa’s coaching résumé includes stops at LSU, Bowling Green, Arkansas State, and Maryland, where he served in offensive line and coordinator roles. Now, with his return stateside, he brings decades of experience to an IMG program known for excellence, and from a Buckeye standpoint, it’s a reunion with one of our own—this time with national recruiting implications.
