Ohio State Announces 2024 Game Themes.

Buckeye fans, get ready for another exciting football season!

Ohio State revealed its 2024 home game themes on Monday, including the third edition of “Scarlet the ‘Shoe,” among other events.

Coach Ryan Day and the Buckeyes will kick off the season against Akron with a special celebration honoring Hall-of-Fame Buckeye Archie Griffin on the 50th anniversary of his back-to-back Heisman trophies.

The next week, Ohio State will host its annual Alumni Band Day during the game against Western Michigan. Former and current members of “The Best Damn Band in the Land” will perform “Script Ohio” together on the field.

The early home games will wrap up with the Scarlet and Gray Game against Marshall on September 21.

When Ohio State returns home on October 5 to play against Iowa, they will host their Hall-of-Fame game, recognizing athletes from all sports who will be inducted into the 2024 class. The team will also wear their alternate gray uniforms.

Following a challenging away game in Eugene against Oregon, where the Ducks will have a “blackout” game, Ohio State will face Nebraska on October 26. This will be the “Scarlet the ‘Shoe” Homecoming game, marking the last special-themed jersey game of the season.

In the next two home games, Ohio State will honor military members during the game against Purdue, and for the first time, they will host a First Responders Appreciation night against Indiana on November 23.

The season’s final and most anticipated game will be against Michigan on Senior Day, with newly appointed full-time head coach Sherrone Moore. Moore defeated the Buckeyes as an interim coach last season. Ryan Day, who has not beaten Michigan in the past three seasons, faces another tough challenge in his sixth year.
