As fall temperatures remain warmer than usual, the Ohio State baseball team is taking full advantage of the favorable conditions while ramping up preparations for the 2025 season. Newly appointed head coach Justin Haire has finalized his coaching staff, bringing in two fresh faces to round out the team and position the Buckeyes for a strong year ahead.
Haire has added Griffin Parrill as the Director of Pitching Development and Camp Coordinator, along with Harrison Mohr as the Director of Program Development. Both bring a blend of experience and a passion for Ohio State baseball.
“The opportunity for us to expand our staff with new positions and high-quality people will benefit us greatly as a program,” said Haire. “Adding Griffin and Harrison full-time allows two young men that love the Buckeyes to serve and help us build our program into championship-caliber on every front.”
Parrill, an Ohio native from Perrysburg, returns to his home state after working under Haire at Campbell University as a graduate assistant. Parrill played four seasons at Bowling Green before finishing his college career at Campbell. His primary role will focus on developing the pitching staff and coordinating camps. Mohr, who spent the last two years as the Buckeyes’ head student manager, will handle video analysis, scouting, and data-driven development for the program.
Warm Weather Boosts Offseason Preparations
With unseasonably warm weather this fall, the Buckeyes are enjoying ideal conditions for outdoor training sessions, providing them a leg up as they prepare for a competitive slate of games in 2025. The coaching staff sees this as an added bonus, helping players maintain sharpness and physical conditioning during crucial early months.
Exciting 2025 Schedule Awaits
The Buckeyes are set to participate in the College Baseball Series benefiting Shriner’s Children’s at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, home of the Texas Rangers. The series, which runs from Feb. 28 to March 2, promises tough competition.
Ohio State will open the tournament on Friday, Feb. 28, at 4:00 p.m. ET against Auburn. On Saturday, March 1, they will face Baylor at 3:00 p.m. ET. Their final game will be against Oregon State on Sunday, March 2, at 12:00 p.m. ET.
The tournament not only offers valuable early-season tests for the Buckeyes but also supports a good cause, as a portion of every ticket sold will benefit Shriner’s Children’s. Fans can purchase tournament passes or single-day tickets through ShrinersShowdown.com and GlobeLifeField.com/CollegeBaseball.
With a solid coaching staff in place and early-season games on the horizon, Ohio State baseball fans can look forward to seeing how the team develops under Haire’s leadership as they strive for a championship-caliber season.
