We are not exactly sure what a “Spring Showcase” is, but we are about to find out: The Ohio State football team will hold an event at Ohio Stadium on its typical spring game date, but whether it will be an actual spring game remains to be seen.
Despite starting spring practice two weeks later than usual, the Buckeyes will conclude their spring schedule on April 12, maintaining their tradition of wrapping up spring practices on the second Saturday in April.
This year, however, Ohio State is referring to its final spring practice as a “Spring Showcase,” suggesting a possible departure from the standard spring game format. According to Monday’s announcement detailing the Buckeyes’ spring practice schedule, specifics regarding the event, including ticket information, are still to be determined. What is certain, though, is that fans will have plenty to enjoy beyond the action on the field. Ohio State will host a Buckeye Gameday Fan Fest before the Spring Showcase in Remembrance Park, located at the intersection of Woody Hayes and Archie Griffin Drives. The event will feature live entertainment, food and beverages, as well as fan activations and giveaways from 9 a.m. to noon.

Ohio State will complete its entire spring practice slate within a condensed four-week period, beginning on March 17 when students return from spring break. The team will hold three practices in the first week, followed by four practices per week over the next three weeks, culminating in the 15th and final session—the Spring Showcase.
The later start to spring practices is a direct result of Ohio State’s extended 2024 season, which concluded on January 20 with the Buckeyes capturing the national championship in their 16th game of the year. While the format of this year’s Spring Showcase remains uncertain, one thing is for sure: Buckeye Nation will be ready to embrace the event and get a glimpse of the team as it prepares for another championship pursuit.
