Ohio State’s gray alternate uniforms are set to return for the 2024 season.

The Buckeyes announced the themes for their eight home games on Monday, revealing that they will wear gray uniforms during their Week 6 matchup against Iowa on October 5.

Last year, Ohio State wore these gray uniforms in a game against Michigan State, where they won 38-3.

Since 2009, Ohio State has worn alternate jerseys 34 times, winning 27 of those games and losing 7. The team has also worn all-white, all-scarlet, and all-black jerseys as popular alternate looks.

In addition, Ohio State will honor its 2024 class of Athletics Hall of Fame inductees during the game against Iowa. Historically, Ohio State has a strong record against Iowa, winning 47 out of 65 games and losing 15. Notable games in this rivalry include:

  • October 19, 2013: Ohio State 34, Iowa 24
  • September 30, 2006: Ohio State 38, Iowa 17
  • October 22, 2022: Ohio State 54, Iowa 10

Ohio State has beaten Iowa in every game at Ohio Stadium since 1991, except for two. Most of these wins were by double digits. However, Iowa defeated Ohio State 55-24 in 2017, marking Iowa’s largest victory margin over the Buckeyes.
