Ohio State’s upcoming matchup against Oregon is poised to be a primetime showdown. During an appearance on The Herd, Fox Sports analyst Joel Klatt disclosed that the Buckeyes’ game against the Ducks on October 12th in Eugene will be televised by NBC, taking the 7:30 p.m. time slot.

Although the official kickoff time has not yet been confirmed by Ohio State, Oregon, or NBC, the anticipation is building for what will be one of at least two night games for the Buckeyes this season. Ohio State is also scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. game against Western Michigan on September 7th, which will be broadcast on Big Ten Network. So far, three kickoff times for the 2024 season have been officially announced, including the home opener against Akron at 3:30 p.m. on August 31st (CBS) and the highly anticipated rivalry game against Michigan at noon on November 30th (FOX).

This clash with Oregon marks the first time these two storied programs will meet as Big Ten Conference opponents. The Buckeyes have historically dominated the Ducks, holding a 9-1 record in their all-time series. However, the last meeting in 2021 saw Oregon secure a rare victory, defeating Ohio State 35-28 in Columbus.

While Oregon’s win in 2021 is still fresh in the minds of Buckeye fans, Ohio State’s overall success in the series is undeniable. Notable victories include the 42-20 triumph in the 2015 College Football Playoff National Championship and the 26-17 win in the 2010 Rose Bowl. As the Buckeyes prepare to head to Eugene, the stage is set for another chapter in this compelling rivalry, with Ohio State eager to assert its dominance once again under the bright lights of primetime.
