Ohio State is bringing a touch of class – and a lot of exclusivity – to the Shoe, starting in 2026. Get ready, Buckeye Nation, because the “1922 Club” is on its way, and it’s not just any club. We’re talking a speakeasy-style lounge that’ll take you back to the Roaring Twenties, but with all the comforts of modern luxury (and plenty of Scarlet and Gray).

Ohio State announced on Tuesday that this private club will be tucked into the east side of Ohio Stadium. So, while the rest of us are crammed into the stands, yelling at refs and scarfing down stadium dogs, some lucky members will be enjoying a spacious, lounge-like atmosphere to catch the Buckeyes in action. And don’t worry, it’s not just for gamedays. The 1922 Club’s restaurant will be open from Tuesday to Saturday, serving up history and hospitality like only Ohio State can.

Of course, all of this exclusivity comes at a price. For a cool $4,500, you can join the club and get:

  • All-inclusive food, beer, and wine (because who wants to be limited when watching the Buckeyes?)
  • A cash bar for spirits (because sometimes a touchdown deserves something stronger)
  • Three hours of pregame access and a postgame hour to celebrate (or recover)
  • Private restrooms (because the regular stadium lines are a battle all their own)
  • A fancy, members-only entrance (so you can feel like a VIP)
  • And more, including discounts on private events and presale ticket access for non-football events at the Shoe.

If that’s a little steep, there’s also a “social membership” option for $1,000 that gets you access to the restaurant on non-gamedays, special events, and some other perks. No game-day action, but hey, you can still host a party at the stadium!

Ohio State’s athletic director Ross Bjork, during an interview on 97.1 The Fan, said that the 1922 Club is just one of many upgrades planned for the 101-year-old stadium. Apparently, premium seating and experiences are what fans want these days (who knew?), and the athletic department is ready to deliver.

“We’ve got good bones,” Bjork said about the Shoe, “but it’s going to take time and money” to keep upgrading things. Translation: get your wallets ready, Buckeye fans, because the 1922 Club is just the beginning.

So, if you’ve ever wanted to watch Ohio State play while living like Jay Gatsby, now’s your chance. Just be prepared to pay for the privilege. But hey, if it means a Buckeyes win, we’re all in, right?
